BABYLON is depicted symbolically in the Bible as a Whore riding on a Beast drinking a cup of the "filth of her adulteries" and is drunk from human sacrifice.
In real life it is the World Economic System and all the "merchants" who have gotten rich by being in bed with her.
She is also symbolic of a,
"great city that rules over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:18)
We are not called to LIVE in BABYLON. God has told us to disengage ourselves from her.
"Come out of her, my people,
so that you will not share in her sins,
so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
for her sins are piled up to heaven,
and God has remembered her crimes."
(Revelation 18:4-5)
Why has God called us to "come out of her"?
Because He is going to completely destroy her in just ONE literal HOUR!
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
you mighty city of Babylon!
In one hour your doom has come!’" (Revelation 18:10)
This is God's judgment on her and I guarantee you it is GOING...TO...HAPPEN.
And the Bible is so detailed and specific about this happening that it actually lists all the products that are sold that will cease when she is destroyed forever.
"The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore— 12 cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; 13 cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human beings sold as slaves." (Revelation 18:11-13)
